Cleaner Shrimp wrong place wrong time?

I bought a small anemone only a week ago. Probably about an inch in diameter. Seemed fine last night and this morning was being picked at by my cleaner shrimp. Its mostly dead and only hanging on by a piece of its foot. I wondered if the anemone was already dying or dead or did the cleaner shrimp help in killing the anemone. Thanks for any help I'll be getting some water test results posted soon.

some shrimp will actually eat your anemone ... so probaly just got hungry.

Nems can b hard to keep. My skunk cleaners dont bother my stuff tho

I'm bummed this is my first anemone that died during acclimation. Not that I've had a ton but I lost three in my move and two to a heater cooking my tank a while ago. So I am still trying to take care of my new Mini Max and try again soon because my Goby and ClownFish are fighting and need to get away from each other.

Don't get an Anemone just for the Clownfish, especially not a small one. But they are wonderful animals to keep. I don't see a Cleaner Shrimp eating a healthy Anemone so I'm guessing it was really stressed.
