To those of you who have used the 1" SCWDs for a closed loop system: did you mount them below your tank, and if so, what gph pump did you use? We have a 125g display tank with a 55g sump. We had an external pump that was 2400gph that worked ok with 2 SCWDs (1" fittings). Three 'holes' were flowing very well, but there was one 'hole' in the tank where the water was not flowing at a very high rate...more like a trickle that wouldn't create enough water movement in that area. Upon tightening the pvc fittings to this pump, the pump fitting cracked!! So, now we need a new pump, and were thinking of getting a pump with a higher gph. Would that solve the problem with the flow rate in the closed loop system?
