clams

Hello, hope all is well with my fellow enthusiasts! I got a bunch of clams (swf) but do not have deep sand. My old two dug right down and haven't seen them since. One of these new guys died. I knew because he popped open. Could see his little body and then the crabs cleaned it up. 2 more have surfaced but are not opening. Should I remove them? Thanks much.

I had a couple. They died after a couple months. They came up out of the sand. The water got cloudy and that tipped me off that they were the problem.
