Need another pic (clearer). Can you get his head?
Regardless:
An eel DOES NOT belong in this setup! You have inverts!

There are a lot of Eels that won't bother inverts.
Do need a better pic though.
That eel does not look like one that is going to be good for that tank. Keep in mind, this tank is only a 70G, with those fish in it as well...
To the OP, why would you buy this eel without doing any research?

easy i looked up morays and it came up with a pic that had the same colors and size as his pic
Based on shape and coloration it is not necessarily a moray. More than likely it is a moray because they are so common, but without a better pic, I'm not confident in making a decision.

ok first off im getting rid of my all inverts on saturday because im trying to do fish only. second, the lfs said it was a green moray, but it does not look like it, and he has had it for three years and has not grown. i observe the eel eat everytime im in there and he its krill and silversides and sorry about the picture it was with my webcam that was the best shot i could get...he was hiding. BTW the tank is 72 gallons(not really a big difference) and i believe it is a moray.

I don't even know what a Golden Headed Moray is, your much better off using Latin names when IDing Morays....But a few possibilities are.
Muraena lentiginosa
Gymnothorax thyrsoidea....Does it have white eyes?
Gymnothorax eurostus

Really would help to see it's mouth though, BTW how long is it? Here is good link for Moray ID.

Regardless, you also have a clown in this tank and your angel isn't that big yet.
That eel (looks like a Jeweled Moray Eel -Muraena lentiginosa if I had to guess, and at best, it's a guess), will eat anything that it can fit in its mouth.

That is my first guess as well...They, like all Moray Eels are risky, but I do know people that have had good luck with them over extended periods. Crimzy (whom used to be a regular in the Aggressive Forum) had one for a long time in his tank. They do stay comparatively small at about 2 feet max, but small fish beware for sure..

well i actually just started to get worried about my fish because they are generally small, as u all know, and i thought it was a chainlink too. not really much of a mover though, pokes his head out of his den the whole time, hasnt eaten yet goin to try to buy krill, but he didnt take the silverside. another thing that i found odd was that he wuz at the lfs for quite some time in a large 400 gallon tank. the man took down the tank and practically gave me the eel becuz he said probably no one wuz goin to buy it. the eel has been there for about 2 years and it just about one foot. i thought the eel would have been at least two feet by now, after about two years.

Hey KJR, do you still have your Gold Tail Moray? Mine's gotten pretty much full size I think. Not very long but he's gotten really thick, maybe 16" + long. Hard to really measure an eel since it's never fully stretched out.

Yep....When I first got my Crosshatch pair I was really worried about him. I swear he didn't eat for 3 weeks or so, I have always had to feed him with tongs, but having to deal with that big Male Crosshatch along with the Lime Green Wrasse attacking the tongs every time they went in was too much for him for awhile. He is now bolder and looking for food every other night typically, and not afraid to go after it. Though I still try to sneak him the food when the Trigger and Wrasse are not looking.
He has been a lot like my Snowflake in my previous tank. Very seclusive the first year and now coming out more and more. He has been a slow grower, 8 or 9 inches when I got him in may of 09, maybe 13, or 14 at the most now. He is getting rounder as well. I think they will both probably continue to grow, but VERY slowly.
What do you feed your? Mine really isn't into Silversides, so he is pretty much on a shrimp only diet, maybe the occasional piece of squid.
