Live sand

I have a live sand bed of one inch in my 561 gallon tank.I want to increase the sand level to 4 inches to create a deep sand bed to combat nitrates.Can I just add dry sand to the top of my current sand,Or will this cause problems?I do not want to do this if it will cause problems with my current nitrifying bacteria.

if you do it in small portions then u should be fine

Yeah, you need to do it over a well-extended period of time.
