He is likely getting his full on the seaweed. I would feed seaweed every day as well as the meaty foods every day.

i was but i got worried about over feeding and the lack of cleanup crew to feast on extras isn't there at the moment...but coming soon...would it be ok to continue the current schedule until the arrival of a new cleanup crew?

and if im feeding both everyday and he's already getting his full on seaweed how will he eat the meaty stuff later that day?

OK! i began this thread on the nineth of jan. and it has been a month now...to be truthfully honest i still cant tell if he's getting any better or not...i would have though with a change in feeding for over a month a good amount of progress would be visuable but i really dont know...he looks healthy and in some ways i feel like his scales and fins are looking great especialy the blue lines on his fins but the areas were the scales were missing seem to still be missing and i dont know why?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you take a pic of the fish, perhaps a shot of the affected area and post it?

i think both beth and scuba cld really use that.

and reading this post tonight. about the grounding post. you said you went to the store and bought a power strip/ surge protector? and said that "all of my tank plugs are plugged into a grounding connector" am i reading this right?? so did you infact get a grounding probe? i just want to make sure you did, not JUSt a surge protector. if so. your stay voltage cld still be there?? maybe thats why the correction on the diet hasnt helped any..

Beth? Scuba?? what do you think? did i read that part wrong?

A grounding probe is installed inside the aquarium. A wire runs from the probe and is attached to the center screw on your outlet.

There are other causes of hlle disease besides diet. You need to check all your water paramters and perform routine water changes. Also, if you lfs has some macroalgae this will also help reverse the disease if added to the diet. if you are seeing some improvement that is good. However, if you have water parmater issues you will not see too much improvement until this factor is corrected.

If you are using tap water for your water changes and top-offs this could be your problem

ok well i did get a gounding thing but its for the outlet so i guess i need to get a grounding probe...my water parameters seem to be pretty good...

...im getting a reading of 0 in am, trites, and trates...my salinity is 1.023...ph is 8.3...ca and alk are low but im working on that....

...im doing a weekly water change of 4 gals or 10%...

Keep up the routine....you did state you thought you saw some improvement...correct?

Sometimes the improvement is slow and it might noy be as obvious to you as somepne else that does not see the animal each day. if you can take a pic now..and one again in a couple of weeks you can compare the two.

Also, if you are using tap water that could be your problem.

Sorry, but I need to steal this thread for a minute...

I don't find zoecon or selcon when searching the store on swf shrug.gif

Help please? Where do they have it listed at? I checked the supplies "food" and "misc" and dont find it there, so then I just used the key word search and both words had 0 result.

TIA bigg.gif
