Gorgonian; Photosynthetic vs. nonphotosynthetic

MX #28 and I thought we should start a thread on Gorgonian ID, so that those who are unsure can perhaps I.D. theirs by scientific name, and determine if it is photosynthetic or not. If you have one that you know or don't know, please post here .

Here's my macro shot of what I'm quite sure is Menella sp. If anyone knows different, let me know.

I'll try to get a good shot of my other gorg one of these days, too.

The first is Diodogorgia nodulifera. Not sure on the second.

How long did you have it? Any significan't growth?

deep sea yellow gorgonian 1 year old.

thriving in the reef offer them zoo plankton and phyo..and some other essential filter feeders..

Here is my newest addition to my reef tank! It is amazing! Thanks to ReefkprZ I know what type of Sea Fan it really is. It is a Gorgonia acabaria.
