Moving questions

Ok here is the deal. Im finishing up a five year contract in the Marine Corps. Im Sep I will be moving from AZ back to CO. My question is this. Do you bring your fish with you or just find them new homes. Im pretty sure I could send enough equipment to my parents to have them cycle a small tank for me. Then they could just stay there till I get my place all set up and the 125 cycled again. Is this worth the trouble. I only have a few fish but still I like all of them

Blue Hippo { brought back from near death and thriving }
bannerfish
clownfish
Green Chromis's Seven of them
LMB

And a huge cleanup crew

Any thoughts

If you can afford it just buy new fish, and use your old equipment. Reason being it is easier, and you don't chance killing off all your prized fish on that long move.

well i have a van and what i did was get a couple 35 gal rubbermaid tub,power converter for the car took water stright from the tank had the fish in one with the live rocks in the other had a couple home made pvc u tubes to move water back and forth from the 2 tubs used the power converter to run a hang on back filter i ran for a couple weeks before the move....i had it in the liverock/sand tub and a power head with the fish. if you have to stop over night and over night temp might be a issue get a bigger converter and run your a heater also.

also if you do this you will have 50/60 gal of good water already and you shouldnt have any/much die off on the livesand/rock even if you dont take the fish i would still move the rock and sand like this. it save alot of time on resetting up the tank
