why dont we start our own ID database here on the forum.
use this thread to post
1) a picture of the zoo.
2) the name or names that the zoo is known by.
3) how fast the zoo grows.
4) your name or screen name is fine
5) any information you want to add about that species of zoo.

after the list grows it will be recompiled into another thread and archived and will be updated as more are added.

*Please use a different post for each type of zoo to keep confusion down.
*Please if you dont know the name of it for sure post in another thread asking for an ID before posting in this thread.
*If someone has posted a picture of what you have dont worry go ahead and post a picture of what you have mutiple pictures of the same zoo can be used and will vary in color and size so dont worry.
*If there is a zoo that is in disput of what it actually is called we will try to get a deffinate ID on it

alright lets get the list growing.
There are no prizes for participation in this thread its a knowledge base only thread.

*please make sure that these pictures are free of copyright or that you have permission for them to be used. We dont want to deal with any copyright issues later on.

Thanks
Mike

As the photos are put into the ID thread they will be deleted off this thread.
some photos will be alternated only to be able to upload them onto SWF.com.
check out the thread that has the IDs here http://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/show...=1#post2626754

keep them coming everyone lets really get a good database going on these.

if it works then we can start another one on a different coral species.

If anyone has any pictures of the preditors of zoos I would be interested in those aswell for a different thread of preditors and ways to get rid of those preditors.

also if you know of any thing that irrates them that would be a big help aswell.
Even Fish that will eat or bother them.

again thanks everyone for the pictures and helping get this going.

Amazing, Mike

Mike, I'm new to this blog but not so new to the hobby having had a tank for more than 16 years. You're collection and photos of zoos is truly amazing!

Seems I buy new ones($40+ each) but they don't grow, let alone propagate. In my market Dallas/Fort Worth) it really seems like "frags for $40" has become the norm so the lack of success is pretty frustrating.

The available frags are pretty sorry in size and health. And the local store resouces (staff) unfortunately know little if anything about how the home hobbyist can introduce them successfully into aquariums.

Any opinion on the use of "marine putty" or "marine glue" to secure the animals to a reef? Any suggestions as to brand names? Can they be secured vertically or must they be horizontal? And any suggestions as to appropriate feeding so as to keep them happy and well? Many thanks. I'm determined to do better with these wonderful creatures. -- Tom
