Thanks for the comments.
I have no idea exactly how much rock is in the tank. The only live rock that I purchased was a 50# box of Fiji when I set up my first tank.
Since then I have just purchased base rock from several LFS over the years. I actually have around 30 pounds soaking right now.
Normally what I do is place the base rock in an extra 20L tank that I have, add a piece of live rock and a powerhead for circulation and fill it with water from water changes for about 3-4 weeks.
I don't know if it is totally necessary but the rock usually colors up after about a week in the tank with no effects on my parameters.
If I had to guess I would say maybe around 180-220 pounds

I am having a small problem with green bubble algae right now. What is the best way to get rid of this stuff?

Siphon it out CAREFULLY (don't want to break it) with a turkey baster...or they say Emerald crabs eat it

So if I understand correctly... in-wall tanks aren't exactly IN the wall... they sit behind the wall in another room and you put a frame around it on the room you would view it from?  Not to take away any credit you did as it looks absolutly amazing... but I want to know how this is done so then I can do it when I plan to finish the basement.

In a nut shell that's it. The backside of my tank is in the utility room. This makes for easy water changes and it keeps all of the equipment out of sight.

Just remember to consider the heat and humidity of the room. I have to run a dehumidifier 24/7 and in the summer it can get pretty hot in there. When I upgrade I will have to consider an exhaust fan and maybe a small AC unit.

Do a search on in-walls, there are plenty of set ups on here that are far better than mine.... look around take ideas from multiple setups and combine them to fit your needs and space.. that's what I did.
