Need help identifying this fish

I have just recently started a SW tank, and yesterday my wife came home with a fish she bought. She said the tag said it was a Squirrelfish, but the pictures of them I've seen online have me wondering if it really is. The online pictures I have seen show them being orange. Here is a pic of what my wife came home with. Can someone tell me if it is a Squirrelfish or something else? Thanks in advance.

I would agree a squirrelfish of the genus Neoniphon. Would have to do some research to get to the species level.

Yup according to Dr. Burgess's atlas a Neoniphon sammara. Can grow to about a foot in length.

Here is some fishbase info.

I believe I found your fish. It's a Spot Fin Squirrel fish. Hopefully someone else can verify :)

Now that I'm on my computer and not searching on my phone I have found some pictures of this guy. It looks like he is a Spotfin Squirrelfish. Could someone advice me on what this guy should be fed?

(Time to lecture my wife about buying fish before we research them.)
