sorry it took me so long to get back to you. my phone is dead at the moment, i need a new battery and my computer has a virus so i'm stuck on the laptop that has no caps lock or shift key working, yay me ... sorry for no question marks, shift key doesn't work, so i don't have the ability to type one. this is what happens when you leave the laptop open next to the tank while doing a water change
anyways, that does look lik a very mild case of pinched mantle disease, but i have one question before i'm convinced that it is pmd... does anything aggrivate it, such as a fish. i know you recently got a new lemonpeel, but i seem to recall that they are not in the same tank.
i would do a 10min fresh water dip.
i never have done a full 30min dip, because i am also scared. i have done 15-20min dips, but usually kept a low salinity rather than a zero reading. you could try dipping in a hypo solution of 1.009 or so to start with, sometimes this helps in milder cases. derasa clams, especially larger ones, are fairly resilient so you should be ok. this does not look like that serious of a case. i think two or three dips [max] every other day should fix the problem [keeping my fingers crossed for you]. do you feed this clam every or do you leave it as a filter feeder only ... they tend to get pmd more so when they are manually fed, at least that has been my experience, but most of my experience has been with maximas that are more prone to this syndrome to begin with.
if you can, do a bigger water change on your tank as well and change out your carbon.
one of my maxima's has pmd right now and i'm on dip number 4, it's getting better, but it isn't great. this clam had it really bad and i thought i was going to loose it. your derasa should be okay with one or two dips, but increased water changes and new carbon does seem to help as well.
