Help with My Adult Emperor Angel

I have an adult emperor angel that I have had for over a year.  I was looking at some pictures I took a while back when I first got it and noticed that this fish has gradually lost it's colors.  The black around it's face has faded and it's just not as vivid as it used to be.  I only feed my fish "New Life Spectrum" fish pellets, which is the only food I feed it.  Can someone give me some pointers on what I've done and how I might get it's colors back??? Thanks!

He needs a much better diet than that.  He needs a food with plenty of sponge in it.  I think they require algae also.  Mysis and other foods mixed in should also benefit him.  Lose of color usually is a bad diet and can lead to worse problems.

Thanks!  I just started feeding it dried algae sheets.  I'll try mysis shrimp as well.

You can also buy mega marine angel....it is especially for angels

Also get something high in sponge content remember.  Like Meowzer said they make food just for angels inclucing sponge.

Pellets to angel fish are like feeding humans candy all the time. It doesnt work.

Just thought that the "New Life Spectrum" pellets were way different.  They advertise that everything that the fish need is in there.  I thought I was giving them all that was needed.  Guess I will now have to come up with a different plan.  Candy???  Wow...Thanks!

LOL...New Life Spectrum are not bad pellets....but they are still pellets.....I have the spectra a+...I feed them every so often as a snack.....never as a main dish though
