Alot of the newer "country" isn't country at all...  Old country is just music that has stood the test of time...

True, I am a huge fan of bluegrass, but don't listen to any of these pop country performers. We have a HUGE country music festival a couple small towns away every summer and it is a drunken circus and not the type of thing I would call family freindly at all regardless of how big of American flag they tack on the back of the stage.

I like the more Outlaw country myself kinda turned into texas country.  But I don't like the way it has evolved more recently but it is still pretty local to texas...  The thing I love is Willie Nelson live.  Because he plays country music, but plays it like he's playing jazz.  He riffs up or down to key notes in his songs.  So every time you see him it is like hearing these songs for the first time all over agian..

But their has been SOME good new music.  Like that duet with Randy Travis, and Carry Underwood are amazing songs...

It's like I don't even know you anymore. The only country worth listening to is Kenny Rogers. And to some extent The Man in Black, Mr. Cash.

Darth, there is nothing better than getting up early at sunrise when it is really quiet in the country, pouring a cup of coffee, and putting on some good bluegrass and just relaxing for a half hour and looking out at my place before starting the day.

I have discovered Hayseed Dixie. Who know you could perform Bohemian Rhapsody bluegrass LOL!

lol Well their are a couple good Kenny songs,  but Kenny?  BTW speaking of mr cash.  You ever heard his version of Hurt?

Willie Waylon, and Merle is where it is at for me.

This is awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zol906ltPU&feature=related.  I love it.  Personally even if country isn't your cup of tea, if you love music, you've gotta at least appreciate these 2 songs...

Real country music doesn't suck. Most of what is played on country radio today is pop music that has a few "ya'lls" and slide guitars mixed in here and there. And Shania Twain got it started, so she sucks too.

But a real country music guy, like JAMEY JOHNSON, in the vein of Cash, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings, is awesome.

You could replace Nickelback with coldplay....

Jamey Johnson is good, like I heard one of his songs,  got the CD and listened to the rest of it, and wasn't that impressed.
