you ph is low.

you need to point them in a way the you the most movement, like one pointing mid tank and up, so you get movement on top, and one mid tank and down, so water moves in a kinda circle, its hard to expain.

 

you also need to fill up your tank to the top. lol

more surface movement will help your ph

Yes I have it filled up to the top what do you think of the power heads how many GPH do you think I need I have two 400 GPH power heads in the tank know.

I would get a koralia 1050 and place it in the center of the tank...towards the top pointing to the front glass in a slight downward slant

 

I would take the 2 you have, and put them on the back glass....mid to upper top....pointing at an angle in and slightly down  towards the front glass

 

 

do you understand?  if not I can probably come up with a pics or 2 of what I mean

What should the PH be at. also is a sump better than a canister filter.

sorry, wasnt on before.

Ph should be 8.3

A sump in less work then a canister, less cleaning and a place to hide equipment
