Scinaia Macroalgae...anyone have it?

I got a surprise last week.... a little branch of red macroalgae cropped up in the 12g tank that's housing some of the rock from my 110g tank breakdown.  It's definitely a Scinaia genus.....looks like Scinaia turgida to me.

My question is, does anyone have experience with this species?  Is it slow growing, or will it grow out of control?  I like the color and shape that's taking form, and I'd love to transplant some of this into my seahorse tank.

Some of the pic links are broken but at least some info.
