large maxima clam

i recently purchased a fairly large maxima clam about 9in he is doing great so far i have t5s and have been told that to keep a maxima long term you need mh lights is this true or not. also i wouldnt mind tips on how i can cet it to grow and keep on doing good let me know thanks                                    zain

I have a small maxima under T5's and it is doing GREAT.......ALTHOUGH....what size tank, and what type and how many bulbs are in the light makes a big difference too...and I have mine 1/2 way up

 

ALSO make sure you have a good calcium level

what kind of t5 fixture do u have? how big is the tank?

I have a 6 bulb fixture in 55g but iam going to upgrade to a 125 within 2 months and it will prob be a 4ft tank which is pretty deep but I also am going to get a 250 watt mh... I was just concerned because I spent a lot of money on this clam

anyway mr. insane....can you tell us what bulbs you run in that fixture?   a 6 bulb with the right bulbs should be okay

If you are talking about my personal fixture I am running 2 14,000K MQI, 4 54W T5s and 4 1W LEDS

I have 6 24w bulbs. 3 atinics and three whites
