Care level

Are these, Micronesian Hippopus Clam, any harder to care for than any of the other types of clams?

It's about the same as any other clam, high lighting, good water quality, yadda yadda. They're a slower growing clam, but still a giant species. Not as common to see in the home aquarium, but really not any different in care level than the Tridacna clams.

It's one of the sand dwelling clams.

The notable difference with them is that the mantle does not extend past the edges of the shell like other clams, such as the Maxima, do.

So basically, until I get my water under control and I have the ATI lights in, dont do a clam.

Yeah, basically. I lump clams and anemones into the same category, only difference is the added calcium requirement of a clam.
