I always super glue the pieces to a rock. I have also found that if you take more than one piecefrom the same monti and glue them to the same rock the increased amount of "growing edge" causes the coral to fill in faster and look more like a complete specimen faster. sort of like placing 4 small pieces in a 4 leaf clover pattern you wind up with a nice cup shape in 1/4 of the time.
