Does anyone monitor the review section? It would seem that no one does since spam is popping up in them.

I find it interesting that 3 fish reviews in a row, posted on June 21, 22 and 23, are all done by three different forum names all ending in "123". The wording of all three reviews is similar, and none of the reviewers have any forum posts. Same person.

 

Seems to me that the review section is wide open.

 

edit

whoops, missed one, June 20 is a forth "123" reviewer with no forum posts.

Not spam, just making a comment that anyone can come on here, make a "review" then take off. I think a product review should be held in high esteem.

How about making a rule that a reviewer has to have some minimum number of posts?

Yes Slice...the reviews are supposed to be "reviewed" for relevance and usefulness....I believe that was supposed to be handled by "management"  LOL

 

A while back I did bring that up to swf.com.....I will delete spam as I see it and as long as the system allows me..LOL...it is very touchy somedaysbrickwall.gif

 

I will try to keep an eye out more often for the "pointless" comments too

They've been hitting the wiki section as well. I deleted two this morning. I thought admin was supposed to check the reviews, but I haven't seen anyone on in awhile.

They are, BUT I am gonna take a wild stab at this and say they are short handed.....only because I know someone left   :(

I guess you can accuse me of being an RC-esque elitist. Many of the reviews seem pointless. I would have liked to see reviews that had more substance and provided more concrete hobby helpful info to those reading the reviews.

Hi guys.  I think reviews should be diverse and someone who likes the first fish they've ever had might not know much about it.  If they are completely pointless, please let me know and I can delete them, or please just delete them.  I'm not sure what the levels of administration allow.  I am most definitely very busy and work overtime to get most things done and I don't have much time on the board.  It would be sooooo very helpful if someone can email me or pm me the points of interest.  I am looking but do not see everything.

 

Also, it seems like when I get the email notification that something needs to be fixed, its already been done (like within a minute or two).  That's awesome!  I'm sorry I have been less present, I am going to try to pop in at the beginning and end of my day to answer questions and fix or bring things to Scotts attention.  -Mary-

We can take a closer look at that area then and deal with problems. Its not a big deal.
