I really don't want to scare new hobbyists with it, but... these photos were taken in the middle...

Maybe you need a better way of doing this......I have 5 tanks in 1 room and my room NEVER looks like that

well you should get a pump....and hosing (LONG).....get a large trashcan for you new sw....(I make it in my laundry room)   and I drain my old water right into the drain.....then I put the pump in the new sw...end of hose in tank....and fill....from the laundry room.....my hose is 25 feet

no buckets....never been shocked....how freakin dangerous is that

You're getting shocked when you clean your tank?  That's not good!  You really should find out which piece of equipment is bad and remove it from the system.

I was thinking he was getting shocked due to the wires across the floor and them getting wet.....not faulty equip.

In order for a ground probe to be beneficial it needs to be used in conjunction with GFCI outlets.   There's still  the issue of which piece of equipment is leaking voltage into the tank.

What were you touching when you got shocked? Now I am confused...... were you turning it on and off? Pulling out a plug? Or putting it in the water to see what it would do?

That's how I do it - I the watermaker is outside in the laundry room, I store 100g out there, and I transfer it inside with a pump & hose to another 3 trashcans (100g) that stay inside "climate control".  On w'c day we just siphon out 50-100g - straight into the tub in the bathroom, then pump it back in from the premised buckets.  I have 2 pumps for this, a RIO 2100 and a quiet one 4000HH and either one refills the DT pretty quick......I use the other pump to mix the salt, or a large pwrhead.
