Very Angry at my lfs

Well, no more of my baby horses will ever be taken there again. I haven't been in there since leaving for vacation. I had taken in 4 horses a few weeks before and made sure the tank they were in was good. Talked to the owner about their care, and she told me she would take care of them. Well, I went today, and there are at least two left- she said three - there were other horses in there and they were all thin. There was also at least one pipe fish in there with them. It looked like one horse had a mark on its side. It just makes me sick to think of all the work I put into raising them and they have no care in the world. Looks like I will be keeping all of them until I can find a private buyer.

I can not take these back because I just don't have any place to put them and I cant take a chance on them in my tanks. So very sad.

That has to be so frustrating T, I feel for you.  I would buy a couple off of you in a second because I know how dedicated you are at raising them.

Well I guess that explains why peka had so many tanks with horses in them and only two upstairs that she wanted to keep.  I'm afraid it's the same when you raise kittens or puppies, even hamsters. Once you raise them up, you don't know if the new home will be good or not, if their lives will be a joy or a misery.

Maybe someone will still buy the horses from the pet shop and give them a good home, they are not dead yet. Then adopt my grandchilds philosophy...don't look, it will just upset you.

In the end...I'm so sorry you had to see that, how heartbreaking indeed. At least it wasn't one of your babies Nova posted a heartbreaking picture of earlier. I wonder how much love was put into that little horse to land up as it has.

Sorry to hear about the horses T, I wish i lived closer to you and had the Nerve to do a horse tank because I would sure but a few of those beautiful babies from you.  I get so angry with my Not So LFS when I go in there and see the way some of the SWF look like.  I just want to rescue them all and take them home.  If I had a 1000g tank I sure would do that, just so I would know that they were going to be taken care of.  Hope you have better luck selling those other beauitful babies!

Hi  T.  I am so sorry to hear about this,  Just from the advice you have given me  I know how much love you have for your "babies" .   Like Scott said I too wished I lived closer.  My tank is ready to go, I have just ordered another test kit to verify the one I am using.  If the readings are good the next step is to order my horses.   I hope you are able to find a good home for your babies,  I will be thinking of you as I get my "babiesthumbsup.gif

Please be safe and God Bless you all

aquarium and reef on del prado. They have been really nice and usually have nice fish, but they know how much work I put into those horses and it makes me sick to see them like that.

Joe, it wasn't babysitting. They bought them to sell, and promised they would take good care of them until someone bought them. But thanks for the thought. I have a good fish sitter.
