Back in the saddle again

I kind of disappeared off the face of the earth for awhile.  Life kind of got crazy.  I lost my adult horses this year. I think they got sick when my filter went out for a bit and I didn't know (was out of town and pet sitter didn't notice). The only baby I kept from the only batch of fry I tried to raise is still alive and been alone for the past 4 months. I just kept waiting for him to die too, but he's never missed a beat. My adults all died with in a week of each other with no real signs. Eating one day, dead the next.

I've been really bummed about it all and wasn't sure if I wanted to get more horses or combine all my tanks into the horse tank and have a reef.  Well I've decided I miss my horses too much.  I've bought some new macro, it's doing so/so.  I just ordered some new lights today.  I'm trying to get my tank back to how I like it and in October my lonely little boy is going to have some new friends.

It looks like this forum has picked up since the last time I was here.  I hope to stay around a bit more.

Yah - Welcome back.

Good to see you around again!  I'm really sorry to hear about the losses, though.

Totally understand how you feel re: life getting in the way.  I haven't had much time to be on these boards lately either, and the horse tank is completely in standby mode.  Look forward to seeing some new pics from ya!!

My little boy is quite camera shy.  Could get a great picture of him.  This is the one I raised.  Can't wait to get him friends

Got my new light this week and put it on the tank yesterday.  Tomorrow will be the first day I actually get to see the tank with the light on.  I'm so excited!  I'll see how my grape c. does under it, and if it starts looking really good, I may try and get some different macros again.  I think I want to try and add either a colt coral or kenya tree too.  I wonder what the LFS has in stock.  I can't wait until October to get my new horses

OK, I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow.  I'm always so embarrassed by my tanks.  I have no aquascaping skills and everyone else's tanks look so much better than mine.  I do think my grape C is getting greener.  So that's good, I need to prune it and so far most of my Halimeda is still alive, but no new growth.  I should have some new peppermint shrimp coming this week and some more pods to put in all my tanks.  I may even try to sneak to the LFS tomorrow.  I can't wait until October to get my new horses

Tomorrow is tank cleaning day, so I'm sorry it looks a little dirty, and man I didn't realize how streaked my glass is.

They are here!  2 of them are already searching for pods and eating a little mysis, one of them seems extremely stressed out.  I took a picture of them in their shipping bag, but nothing else until they settle in for a bit.  Don't want to stress them too much

Hey that hitch looks familiar. lol Hey those horses look just like mine.. hahahahaha

Did you get them where I think you did. Beth is really a nice person. Hope they do well, and if it is her, let her know that one is stressed more then the others. She has always done right bt me.

I got them a different place this time.  They are from Chicago.  Since they were closer to me I thought shipping may be easier on them.  The one that was/is stressed is doing better, and I did let her know (her name is Beth too LOL) and she has been great.  I forgot how nervous I get when I get the new babies.  They are so small.  I'm worried about them eating, or getting stuck in something, ect.  It's going to be a long couple of weeks until I relax, probably not until the end October LOL

How are they tonight
