Thanks, I need some fish to help with the waste the SHs leave, I had little yellow clown gobies but I lost them....That little fuge should help me with keeping pods. I plan to get some fish next month.

My pipefish have arrived....they are acclimating to temp right now. They are so tiny about 1 inch in size. The QT is all set for them...I put a yellow background on the tank, but I don't like it...it looks green. Anyway...pictures coming soon.

BLAST...I went to take pictures...I just now released them in the QT...the battery is dead so I will post when the thing charges. I hate when that happens.

They are not the best but i did get a couple...they hide when I turn on the light and are out and about when the tank is dark..I think they are nocturnal or really stressed and afraid. They are beautiful but very small.

The Janss' Pipefish is a type of reef pipefish or flagtail pipefish. This fish is a stronger swimmer than its seahorse cousins and rarely comes into direct contact with the substrate. In the wild, the Janss' Pipefish can be found swimming under rocky overhangs, corals, or close to the floor of its reef habitat where it performs the role of cleaner fish and often feed on parasites and dead tissue from damsels and cardinalfish. The Janss' Pipefish may also clean other types of fish in the aquarium.

SWF says they eat frozen food...I assumed until this moment that meant mysis, if they eat dead tissue wouldn't they pick at mysis????. I can get brine shrimp frozen...do you think I should try that? I will Pm Ladyreefseeker right now.

I think I'm okay...here is some more info I dug up online...

We have found only one species of pipefish that seems to easily adapt to prepared foods like frozen mysis shrimp, Cyclops, reef plankton and similar frozen foods. This species is the Janss’ Pipefish (Doryrhamphus janssi). This is not an easy pipefish species to obtain but they are worth the wait. The Janss’ pipefish is a nocturnal species meaning they are out feeding once the lights in the aquarium are off. This is also when you should offer them food. You should be able to actively see your pipefish eat BEFORE you take it home. After some research, it appears best if only one species of pipefish is housed per aquarium.

I can pick up some cyclops tomorrow. I PMed Ladyreefseeker to see what they fed them.

Meowzer...here are some more pictures...these guys are in constant motion and I'm not a good photographer to begin with. They are orange/red with a blue stripe...a little red ball of a flag on the tail. Here are mine and the last one from the internet...LOL, they all look the same.

Better pictures...one little guy decided to check out the corner near the top and hovered for a moment...

At least you can see his tail flag in these.

They are more like 1 inch, very small. Adult is 3 inches. They sure can move quick when they want. They close that little flag and zoom all over the place. I wonder how well I will even be able to see them in the DT when they go in there, they have that red stripe and might become invisible. They love the seagrass caulerpa too. They are very cute in the face and brightly colored.
