Ewww....What is this???

So I found this blob hanging out in a cave on my live rock. It does not seem to like light and retracts when poked. It kinda reminds me of a mushroom (due to its shape) and it is firmly attached to the rock it is on.

Maybe, I forgot to add the rock that it is growing on is dry, fossilized rock. It also looks like it has a slit for a mouth.

Would you say it's good or bad in a reef tank? About half the sites I just looked at said they are reef safe and the other half say they eat corals.

Apparently, the mouth was the shell.

I would call them slightly beneficial.

OMG, I just realized what might be knocking over some of my corals. This scutus just seems a little on the big side for my tank. It is neat looking.
