hee hee hee..... yep, I'm sure my deodorant, and hair conditioner are perfectly fine for my aquarium. When I clean my aquarium I like to put on a snorkel and really get a close look at what I'm cleaning thumbsup.gif

At the LFS today, I purchased some thin/long stiff tubing that I can add to some flexible thin tubing. I'm hoping it works better then a turkey baster to siphon out the cyano. The turkey baster was just to short (and I hated having to put my hands in the aquarium). Plus the turkey baster sucked out to much water (especially for such a small aquarium).

I saw an aquarium at the LFS today that was about 180 gallons, it seemed so HUGE! It really put things into perspective. Then I thought of your 400 gallon, I can't even begin to imagine how big that must look in person! Did you have to get it custom made or are there places that actually sell them that big?

It was custom made for a business I assume...I ended up getting it at an auction for an unbeatable price. You can't even tell it had water in it, If it even did. Oh and yes it is HUGE in person!!!

Got the skimmer hooked up last night..holy cow its huge. Anyways, the air hose on it is super loud (gurgling) is there anyways to fix this or does it just have to break in? Second question, I'm going to dip my LR and rubble. How do I go about doing it? I mean do I leave it in over night? or litterally just dip it in RO water? Thanks in advance for my newbie questions lol

has your rock been sitting out and has die off is that why you want to dip it? If not then you really only need to submerge it for a few minutes at most to kill off any hitchhikers...

as far as your skimmer,,, I have no clue

i have an octo skimmer.33 inches tall and 13 or 14 inch diameter.yea its loud 3 big air pump motors

No rock is alive..just wanted to get rid of hitchhikers and nuisance

I would just submerge the whole thing in a 5g (or bigger if needed) bucket of fresh water for a minute or 2 and shake it back and forth under the water...

atleast it worked for the rock going into my nano, lol

it would just take you a MUCH longer time than it did for my 3 small pieces of rock, lol

If you are looking to get critters out of the rock, can't imagine why you want this, put some type of stand in a bucket like an inverted tupperware bowl or some such thing. The do a hypersaline dip. Mix up some water to 1.030-1.032 and put it in the bucket so that it covers both the stand and the rock. Wait for a while then remove the rock. You should see a multitude of critters in the bottom of the bucket.

Love the puffers!

We have a Niger Trigger, full of personality.  He cleans out his barnical where he sleeps and spits out and rock or sand.  Funniest thing.  Also a Dogfaced Puffer, lazy like a dog, he actually looks alot like my Pit...we named him Rocko after my dog Rocki.  Go for a puffer, go for a puffer.  We just bought a 150 gallon to upgrade to.  But man yours is awesome.  We've just started to get our going. I showed my husband yours and he already wants to upgrade again. lol
