Tyler's 20 gallon reef tank- UPDATES

It has been about a month since I've updated my tank photos and I have added a lot. Here are a couple pictures..also added a firefish...too fast to get a pic :(

thank you, i've noticed a lot of coralline algae growing over the past month also, unfortuantly its not purple coralline algae

2 false misbar percula clownfish

1 firefish

1 wheelers goby

 

Coral

4 heads of multicolored frogspawn

3 heads of green tip hammer coral

Long-polyp toadstook

Assorted zoa polyps (nothing special, green, yellow and brown)

Pulsing Xenias

4 heads of torch coral

Tiger acans

2 or 3 ricordeas

2 or 3 red mushrooms

Some favia (not sure on the name exactly)

Purple people eater zoas

Green Star polyps

Pretty decent size rock covered in lava orange/red zoa polyps

 

Equipment

48 watt hoT5 lighting fixture (12k bulb and 22k atenic bulb)

2 powerheads (240 gph each)..looking to get one more friday

Aqua C Remora Nano skimmer (love it)

Smaller 20 gallon filter, nothing too special but works great

 

Additives

B-ionic calcium and alkalinity 2 parter

SOMETIMES..kent coral excel

 

I also use these filter sponges in my filter to absorb phosphates and add carbon

i think i'm getting close to being done buying frags..as hard as that'll be...i just am ready to sit back and watch my coral grow!

I also added a cleaner shrimp yesterday along with what I believe to be Green Bay Packers jerseys.

30pounds live rock and 30pounds live sand. I got some halimeda algae and a few snails and crabs. A whole lot of fan worms, worms, and sponges taking over. lol. I had a clownfish, but he decided to go carpet surfing a few weeks ago right after he got ich. So, I'm letting my tank sit fallow for another two weeks to break the ich lifecycle so that I feel comfortable adding another fish. I plan on having an SPS dominated reef tank - so I'[m letting my tank get well seasoned before I start adding any corals. I run a 10g sump with an algae scrubber. No water changes since the tank was started a few months ago. zero trates and phates. :D I'm happy.

sounds awesome man..I just traded 3 purple eater polyps for 3 rainbow palys and 3 yellow japanese deepwater zoas with red skirts..i'll take pictures tomorrow..I'm pumped about the rainbow palys..anybody have a picture of theirs?
