I know - I know we are SW but I think this looks cool - thought I would share.

120 gallon Goldfish tank - my pond fish brought in for the winter

600 GPH return pump from 40 gallon sump - first chamber floss - second dish scrubbers, brought in from the deck pond - third chamber 600 GPH rio pump return.  Lights - 6 - 48 inch - 32 watt from HD. Also supplemental HOF filter with carbon.

Beautiful tank! I think goldfish are a little under rated. I have a customer that comes in each week  to scout the goldfish (or calls and I have to describe every aspect of the oranda goldfish that we receive). He has paid over $500 for a goldfish and has some nice tanks, but not nearly as nice as yours.bigg.gif

I like to go to Billy Blands Fisheries in Tyler, AR. He has some really cool looking goldfish and koi. Sells goldfish by the thousand. I bought 1,000 shubunkins for $33 and goldfish and orandas and bubbleheads, and black moors for almost the same price. I think the most expensive thing I bought there was a 2 year old pearly butterfly koi for $50. lol. Makes me want to go back and visit. :D

Thanks guys, I used to do the same at our LFS seeing if there was anything different in Goldfish. This tank is really a mogpog of things I had left over, plants from the FW planted tank, I am really happy with it.

Did you drive to every LFS within a 4 hour radius on the delivery day to see their fish?

No - are you kidding - that is dedication LOL

I hate to admit it but when I had my goldie tank I did drive all over the state and parts of TN looking for just the right additions. I also had my reef tank so I was on a 2 fold mission I would spend at least 2 days a month traveling around to the different stores for the perfect critter.

Very nice tank. I have been thinking of setting up my 30 with some more goldies but have not decided yet. I also have a 800 gallon pond liner that I could put in.. hmmmm that sounds even better LOL

Thanks Mike, the whole goldfish pond thing started when my son won a goldfish at the fair - you know the ping pong ball in the little jars with goldfish in blue water.  Some of these guys are over 6 years old.

I love the tank. I also think that goldfish are underrated. Thanks for sharing Al. Now I wanna go set one up like that :)
