Would 110 watts of T5 be enough to keep a rose anemone really healthy? thanks

19 inches...its one of those red sea max 34 tanks...it says 110 watts of t5 power compacts so does that mean t5 or power compact?

well t5s are bulbs that are long and single... ive never owned pcs but im thinkin they are smaller diameter wise and usually wrap around and come back to the plug... t5s plug in on both ends if u get my drift?!?! shrug.gif

Those are two different types of lights... There are T5HO bulbs and Power Compact bulbs... There's also T6HO bulbs and VHO bulbs, lol. Figure out exactly what you have, or post a pic and I'll be able to tell yah.

 

19" tall... it's iffy either way, long term.

its one of those red sea max tanks...it says 2 x 55 watt T5 power compacts (1 watt-liter/4 watt-gallon)

im not a fan of lids on sw reef tanks....

 

those look like pcs to me... t5s at that length i dont think come in 55w s

Let me explain better...

 

(and those are T5HO's by the way, not power compacts)

 

Not only is there not enough quality light, but the tank is small. There is not enough filtration, and stability. You have to feed your anemone quite often, and that will lead to water quality issues without adequate care. Short term, it will work, long term, there is a very slim chance that the anemone will live longer than a year.

Heck, get whatever tank you want. But, I'm saying no anemone for this tank under this lighting condition and filtration system. :(

okay, thanks i was confused :P but I'll just stick with my zoas, hammer, frogspawn, etc thanks for the input...have you heard good reviews on the 34 gallon red sea max tank?

I've never personally owned one or a biocube. I have serviced a few though. I prefer standard tanks that can be modified and added on to with sumps. I currently have a 20g nano with a 10g sump.

VHOs, if I am correct, are basically Very High Output T12s. 1 1/2" diameter. T5HO lights are 5/8" diameter.

hmmm...u almost make me wanna get the measuring tape!

im gonna go play oblivion though, gonna get skyrim tomorrow to plz the masses!
