My LPS 20gal. reef has been running under this fixture now for 1 year 1 month. All corals never lost any of there coloring nor bleached from the cross over. Matter a fact my Xenia's have...
Sadly ours died last week (pump malfunctioned and caught fire which had a domino effect of other water issues). He would hop along the front of our 200 gallon tank, loved to race back n forth....
Picked up my CB Target Mandarin from our FedEx station this morning. To say I'm disappointed about the condition of this fish is putting it mildly. I've yet to see a fish so skinny and still...
so i have a 30 gallon reef tank with marine land leds. My anemone was doing well and this morning he was very small and looks to be streching in two? also has a like a dead layer or skin type thing on him? whats ur thoughts> two of the pics are today the other is his usual size.
Do you have the double or reef capable lighting? Either way, that lighting is not enough for keeping an anemone. It almost looks like the nem is trying to turn itself inside out to me.
tanks probly like its been like hmm 4 months but all the water came from 3 year old tank. and ive feed the large one a goldfish once and usally squirts of coral flex mix for corals and anemones.
damnt. i cant belive it would just do this i have had so much succes for a 13 year old in the hobby. i hate to see this die. my corals all look great. he was a very cool addition to the tank ): well ill keep posting up dates
your tank is young, especially for 2 anemones. The lights you have may say reef, but they are not all that great. search this site for other people that have or have had them, they are not strong.
you should not be feeding any thing saltwater-goldfish. You can get raw shrimp from the grocery store- cut them into small pieces and feed. I would buy a couple a week for about 30 cents
yes it is young but considering the wtaer and all the coral and invertaes i have came from a 2 year or so tank??? and i love my lights. but i can comproimse< should i buy a metal halide> how many watts, also when i feed him that 2 months ago he loved it he was so big for tthat week. and also i have a snowflake eel i feed goldfish and thawed talipia every 3 days. hes gotten that all his life.,
BTW the anemone looks worse today ? is he going to make a mess in my tank?

I would not be surprised if/when your eel develops goiters due to malnutrition.
A dying nem can nuke a tank. If it looks that bad, take it out of the tank and smell it. If it smells rotten, it is dead.
