So purchased a sand star to add to my tank with other sand star I had to help with the turning of my sand and for about two weeks they stayed on top of each other so I figured they were breeding and after some research I found out the baby's probably would not live but they did and now i see a couple every once in awhile but I've seen about ten to fifteen at once some one told me they were nucence and would eat my coriline algae is this something I need to worry about and remove them from my tank

Need pics of the stars and their babies for an accurate diagnosis.

I highly doubt they're baby sand sifting stars. More than likely they're asterina stars.

Yeah, especially if I'm on my phone. I just don't see the point in beating around the bush. It's basically a 1 in 1000000 chance of sand sifting stars breeding in a home aquarium.

Pictures are helpful, although it'll just probably confirm that they're asterinas. The OP could find out if they're zoanthid eating asterinas though.

Generally speaking, they aren't harmful.

For future reference, here's a pictorial ID guide for hitchhikers:  http://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhiker/hitchhiker.shtml

It's due for an update/overhaul, but it still works fine for most of the common critters.
