Rose bud loosing tentacles????

How about a picture

Yeah cant tell to much from your description,, though it would be odd for an anemone to LOSE tentacles since they are not like octopi...You said it seems FULLER? like more round or more full of water like a balloon? and has it lost any color or is it as bright as the day you brought it home?

It looks bleached to me.....

With anemones, we need to be a little more specific. What type of lighting is it? Coralife makes everything from PC's to LEDs. If you're not sure, please post a picture (or a few) of the light fixture itself.

As for the nitrates, what test kit are you using? Do you have an exact number for what they are?

Anemones need high lighting (strong, multiple T5's, Metal Halides, or a good LED fixture) and excellent water parameters (nitrates under 10ppm).

It does look very bleached, but salvageable. As for it getting larger, this could be because it's reaching for light, or because the clown is "beating" on it and it stretches out, mine does this because of my clowns.

also....shrimp pellets are not anemone food...they need meaty foods like shrimp....you can buy frozen UNCOOKED shrimp from Walmart....a bag goes for $5 sand give it a small piece

yeah and thaw in a glass with a little tank water after youve cut the shrimp into smallish bits.. if you cant find the 'small' shrimp.. make sure to dump out the water in the sink.. dont put it in your tank unless you have lots of filter feeders, lol

You will have anemone food for almost a year with that!

There are a few different routes you can go. It looks like a 55G tank, so I'm going to assume that is what it is, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to find a used fixture to save you some money.

There are T5 fixtures, you'd need a 6 or 8 bulb fixture, preferably with individual reflectors. Ex: AquaticLife 48" Six bulb fixture.

There are metal halides. A good 4ft unit with 2 150 watt halides would work. Coralife makes some decent units, the AquaLight model is very good. These are usually the easiest to find and the cheaper option to T5s.

There are LED fixtures. These are more expensive upfront, but do save in the long run, because  bulbs don't need to be replaced nearly as often. They also don't use as much electricity or produce as much heat. There are premade fixtures such as Aqua Illuminations SOL or Acan Lighting, or there are DIY fixtures, which are much cheaper if you're handy. Don't waste your time looking at the MarineLand fixtures, they're garbage.
