Royal Grama Drama

I have a Red Sea MAX 250 that was purchaced as an already setup and running system. The tank suffered a very bad breakout of cyanobacteria when first setup 2 and a half months ago. The problem was traced back to high phosphate levels from tap water being used to top off the system prior to purchase. All has settled down now and the system is running great. Today I looked at the Royal Grama and noticed an odd occurance. It seems there are about 6 or 7 small white filaments around the outside of the mouth. There is no sign of labored breathing and the fish is as bullish as ever. The grama will not let the cleaner shrimp near it and it isnt showing signs of scratching or rubbing on the rocks or substrate. Does anyone have an idea of what this may be?

He may have tried to eat a bristleworm. Got a picture?
