Here we are!

Here is our first saltwater setup. We have a tall tank, and because we live in Hawaii we are not allowed to own corals or anemones. We are thinking of changing out the current scenery to live rock, does anyone have some other suggestions to make the tank look more natural? We have two Ocellaris Clown fish in it currently. Also, if/when we change the tank around, is it ok to leave the fish in, or should I move them to our QT while actually changing the tank around? I have been told to put the live rock in the QT for a while before adding to my tank, is that correct? Below is a picture of the tank the way it is now (we purchased this setup from people leaving the island) but I don't especially like it. Also including close ups of my fish, Calvin and Calypso, because I love them :D

Here is the current tank situation:

My tank

Here is Calypso (about 1 1/4 inches, slightler larger than Calvin. Will this fish be my female or can Calvin grow to be bigger than "her"  ?)

Here is Calvin (about 1 inch, slightly yellow in color rather than a bright orange like Calypso):

Welcome!

Live rock is much more natural looking. Since you can't own corals, you might want to look into macro algae as an alternative. Are you sure you can't "own" corals. I thought that people were allowed to trade with one another, but stores could not sell or ship corals to Hawaii, worth looking into further. If you're truly not allowed, I have a friend that is breaking the law, LOL

Anyways, if you have a QT setup, that has never seen copper or medications, I do recommend using it for live rock. You might get hitchhikers like Mantis Shrimp or Pistol shrimps in it. If the live rock is not cured, you can cure it in the QT tank as well.
