Just picked up a purple tipped wall hammer coral and i was wondering how this "splits?" I have plenty of branching hammer but how does the wall hammer split and multiply? thanks!

The recommended method of fragging this coral is to stretch a rubber band around the polyps you want to frag. After a few days, the soft tissue will recede and you can cut the hard skeleton with a dremel tool.

I'm not interested in fragging it, at least not yet..I was just wondering how it got bigger? My levels are good, does it just grow skeletal structure and fill in?
