What is this red stuff?

I noticed some red looking stuff (for lack of a better word) on my sandbed and I'm wondering if anyone could please identify it for me. There's a tiny bit of red on a couple areas of the rock as well. Up until now the only thing red colored is the macro algae. Thanks for your help!

Looks like little patch's of cyano.....siphon them out with a turkey baster....check your flow, and how much you feed....also your lighting schedule

I'll take it out asap. My flow should be good though....it's a 29 gallon with two Koralia 425 powerheads (sitting on the opposite side of the output nozzle. That should be enough flow right? What should I do about the red on the rock?

I have a total of 76 watts (36 watt compact blue actinic and 36 watt compact fluorescent) The blue turn on at 3 pm - white turn on at 4 pm. Then the white go off at 9 pm - blue go off at 10 pm. The lights are currently on for a total of 7 hrs. Is that to much? How should I adjust the lighting?

Thanks for your help!

I forgot to add, I do a 20% water change every week and use both Purigen and Chemipure Elite. I hasn't been six months yet, but I could change those if you think it would work. The bag of Purigen isn't pure white like it was when I first put it in there. It has some brown and black patches. I tested for phosphates and have a reading of 0, and nitrates are at 0 as well. Temperature has been the same 79-80 degrees. Should I turn off the lights for several days or a week? Right now it's a FOWLR. Aside from taking out the red stuff with a turkey baster, what else can I do?

What do you feed?   what's your livestock?  Clean up crew?    Depending on that depends on how often you change your media.....For example in my big tank I should change it every 3 months....as compared to a smaller tank with less stock in it....I can go 6 months in between changes

check that their is flow all over the tank....positioning the powerheads is the real trick

your light times seem ok....

Hi Meowzer! wave.gif I really appreciate your help here. Here's the info. you requested...

It's a 29 gallon (however taking into consideration water displacement from the rock and sand I'm sure it's actually less)

Feeding:

*I mix 3/4 of a cube of frozen Formula One + 1/2 cube of Mysis + 1/2 cube of Cyclops. I defrost and rinse the food several times using a net and RO water. After the food is rinsed really well, I put it in a little jar with RO and a fresh garlic clove that has slits cut into it. I feed 3-4 pinches of that mixture to the fish once a day for 3 days. (after 3 days I make a new mixture of the food)

Livestock:

*There are 3 small fish:

2 Ocellaris Clown Fish, 1 Fire Fish Goby, and up until two days ago a small Lawn Mower Blenny, unfortunately he passed away :( (The tank just wasn't established enough for him, and there wasn't enough algae. I provided green algae sheets but he didn't seem interested in them.)

Clean-up Crew:

*5 Astria, 10 Nassarius, 5 Cerith, 1 Mexican Turbo, 2 large Scarlett Hermit Crabs, 1 small Peppermint shrimp, 1 large Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

Here are some photos I took this morning of the aquarium. Hopefully they give you an idea of layout of the aquarium. Hopefully you can get an idea of where the rock work (including tunnels) and powerheads are located.
