Now that I have my pump issue taken care of, I have a question about removing a wayward mushroom in the middle of my zoa's. I didn't realize what it was until it got big enough to open up some and it's soft tissue underneath started spreading. But I have this mushroom that has snuck it's way into some of my zoa's. What is the best way to remove it? I'm doing this at work, so as soon as I get home I'll take a couple of photos to show it's placement.

Picked up my CB Target Mandarin from our FedEx station this morning. To say I'm disappointed about the condition of this fish is putting it mildly. I've yet to see a fish so skinny and still...

I'm home from work and here are the pictures:
I believe this is the tissue growing under the mushroom.
You can see part of the mushroom here. Sometimes it's completely covered with the zoa's and sometimes it's out full.
So if anyone can tell me how to get it out of there completely or what I should do, I'd appreciate it.

I would use something like Tonsil Forceps to grab the base of the mushroom and rip it out. Do it in a shallow container so you can see. If you get most of it in one piece you can move it to your QT tank or better put in a tall clear plastic cup with gravel and rock at the bottom for it to recover and attach. Use gloves and glasses to protect your self from playtoxen that is within the zoa's.

I'll give it a try as soon as I get the nerve up. Thank goodness I already wear glasses.
