Hey I got some new fish yesterday I got a yellow clown goby and 2 blue/green chromis. I woke up this morning and 1 chromis was dead, the other is fine- he even ate some mysis this morning. Also, the clown goby,I know they like to stay on the downlow, but how am I supposed to know if he is eating- will he come out for it? ooh also, does he eat food off the bottom?

Get yourself a baby eye dropper and squirt food in his direction (a little at a time), he'll get the idea. Then later he'll come out when you come to the tank. IT will take time and patience, also try different foods to get him to eat.

Thanks, but he is less shy, he has been out  swimming more and even ate little pieces of food, but spit out super big pieces.

Then you have to cut it up for him. I do that for my butterflies, they very small mouths. I have special cutting board and knife just for the fish.

Also don't replace the chromis, they don't do well together, people say to keep them in groups of 3 or more. But I've tried, even keep a dozen at one time to see them all die off, mostly by each other, they are part of the damsel family.

I have had 2 green chromis in my 225G for over 3 years now......of course they came in together, and I originally had 5....over the course of time they dwindled, BUT these 2 are always together and never fight

that is good to hear, I tried my darnedest, to get them to live in my tank. Like i said 12 at first, (wanted them to school), then I added more to get the number up to 18 total and the last time 3. Each time dwindled down to one then it died. So I gave up. Kept on hearing the same horror stories, about poor collecting, poor shipping and damsels fight.
