I have a Remora Aqua C Protein Skimmer which I purchased used from another hobbyist. The first night of setting it up the overflow container filled up several time rather quickly. after 24 hours it stopped filling  up, but I also noticed that it is producing a tremendous amount of microbubbles. Should this be happening at all?

Should this be happening at all? No, since you bought it new go on line to see what the interior should look like, you maybe missing a interior baffle.

I purchased it from a hobbyist and he and the manual says that it will take 1-2 weeks before the micro-bubbles would dissipate. I am just trying to make certain that I did not purchase a dud! Thanks.
