I went snorkeling a bit more last evening, and it wasn´t as good as earlier in the day.... visibility was poor, but still found a cool rock with what looked like a bunch of little red gobies or wrasses.

Xenia, or at least corals that look awfully similar, are growing everywhere here... almost like weeds. On ropes, buoys, etc.

Oh, and I found a small rock that had a pretty orange monti on it! (Or at least something that looked really similar)

Funny that all of this was found with just walking away from the main resort beach and swimming out until the depth was 20 or 30 feet.

Going on a snorkeling trip to La Romana today!

Went snorkeling again, and saw 2 porcupine puffers, a ton of Sergeant majors, peacock flounders, nurse sharks, and various anthias, gobies, and wrasses.

Yeah, but didn't get to take any good pics. Only a couple of some seaweed and my dads legs. Not sure why, there was just too much commotion getting out of the snorkeling vessel.

I'll post them anyways.

At first I was gonna say no, but then I remembered that I walked down the beach and I DO remember it! So, yes.

And, my purple tang... I have another thread for that.

Glad you were able to take this trip. Thanks for the pics!

I stayed in one of the Riu resorts years ago.  I remember spending a little too much time at the pool bar before getting in a kayak to go check out that ship wreck.  By the time I got out to it, my hands were so badly blistered and it was miserable trying to paddle in.  Punta Cana was a good trip though and seeing the houses people lived in really gave me a new perspective on life.

Hahahaha about the bar story.

Driving through definitely did give me a new perspective too.

And more appreciation for traffic laws - LOL!
