I bought this turbo snail a few months ago, today he was upside down because he fell over (he does it a few times) when i picked him up this time this thing fell out of his shell, its flat and VERY polished, any idea what it is? the snail still has a slug in it

Snails have a little trap door that they can close up behind them for a defense...could it be that? If you look at any dead snail shell you will see the inside looks very polished. So maybe your snail lost his door, I don't know if that will hurt it, or if it will grow a new one.

Just leave it, it's a snail, there isn't much you can do really. For all we know they shed it and grow another like deer do antlers. You know.... maybe you could mark the snail with some nail polish and watch what happens to him without it. You might make some discovery about snails and get your name in a book...

We have this tiny chunk of an ocean in our homes, and who knows what observations you make that has never been recorded before.

I actually have like a whole box full of those. I found them to be really neat. Not saying that I have a bunch of dead snails - just that whenever I found one I'd keep it. lol

some weird stuff is happening, my tank has great parameters and have never had a dead creature and now a starfish that was a hitchiker is dead next to a pile of white stuff (snail i guess)

What kind of star is that?

that starfish looks very similar to the "crown of thorns" not a good starfish... google them they are a pest. i have NEVER seen one in a home aquarium that is very odd that you have one you said it was a hitchhicker?? did it come in on a piece of coral by chance?? sry if you already stated any of this in another post

@fish are good,  ive recently only set up my tank and have bought 100kg live rock from lfs and it was in there, i did try to get an ID on this site but no one knew, but that could be it as ive recently lost one coral which was very healthy, bit by bit, and one day i saw it on it but i didnt even think.
