Lol. Ugh. I wish we didn't have to keep everything so pg rated. It would be a lot more fun. 

 

So I didn't catch it yet, but what are you trying to keep?

I have a decent sized torch and frogspawn in my tank. I also have a pair of clowns. The clowns do not bother the corals. There is no guarantee that the Euphyllia will suffer or won't suffer. My female clown is hosted by a sebae and the male wanders between the sebae and a leather.

I just like stuff that has movement...  I may add some corals that are easy to keep that add some color to the reef but for the most part I want easy/ semi easy corals and fish to keep, atleast for the first year or so...   To the earlier post my light is a single 250W MH and 4 T5 HO 39w fixtures and 4 Dual LED's for moonlight.

You will be able to find a lighting schedule that will work for lower light corals with that light. I would run the 250 MH for a short time and have the T5s run before and after.

Side note.. went into petco to get a magnet glass cleaner.... I want to buy my fish from there because I feel I could save them lol.... the conditions are horrible... I know they arent healthy but maybe in a few more weeks my tank will be in the position where it will be a much better habitat then petco.... lol

Remember to quarantine all fish so you do not introduce disease to he DT.

please explain, ... I only have my main tank and sump.... and how long do I quarantine? Can I do that in a bucket or? Doesnt that just add to the stress? I just try to get them into their new environment asap... I mean think about it... some big giant net chases you through your home... catches you... " after you smash into a wall or 3" they dump you into a bag.... " where you smash into the walls a few more times" The water temp fluctuates , you cant stop breathing fast so O2 levels in the water drop....  The environment keeps getting sloshed around from the drive.... then you are stuck in the bag looking at a cool new home but cant get to it for what seems like an eternity.... lol

Think of the display tank. Think of all the cash that goes into it. The cost of the fish and the corals that go into it. You don't quarantine the fish and corals. The beautiful fish that you just acclimated to your tank has marine velvet that went undetected in your purchase at the LFS and acclimation. BAM!!!! In 48 hours, all of your fish are dead and you are out the cash for the fish. Had the fish been properly quarantined much of your livestock would be spared. Now, the same thing can happen to corals. Read the threads in the disease forum. There is info on how to setup an effective quarantine.
