coral crab eating sps

i think i just saw a coral crab eating one of my sps! do they do that or mabe it was just a damaged section? he just moved from the coral he came in on to another sps last night and i caught him ripping tiny pieces off.

Time to get rid of it or you'll lose your corals. Just because it suppose to be reef safe doesn't mean there isn't exception to the rules. Coral crab, not sure what type of crab you are referring to. Put him in your sump or try returning it to LFS for credit.

Yes they do sample the coral. A coral crab should not be put with a small frag. I guess it has to do with the amount of mucus the coral puts out as the crab will feed on that mucus. If the crab does get to liking the taste of the coral it can do some damage.
