I need help with algae - Page 3

I really want it on the opposite end.....and with the sump in the middle, and the reactor on the right of that, I have very little room inside to get it in...IF IT would fit...

I have the cascade on the right side between the tank and the wall so it is hidden from plain sight.......I also have the return from the sump on that side ofthe tank.....so I really wanted this on the left

when I told Danny my dilemma, he said we can put it outside the cabinet on the left (like I want) and he will build me a cabinet around itbigg.gifSO I am going to order it with that plan in mind

My water is crystal clear, so I am not worried about that at all.......I am gonna get the ceramic rings and purigen...and run it with that....I AM ABOUT TO CLICK ON "PLACE ORDER"  LOL

Yeah, I guess my point was that I already thought my tank was pretty clear, so it was a little shocking to see this thing make a quick noticeable difference. :) I think the fine filter pads played a major role.

I hope not......It seems the more I do....the more I spend....the more problems I havebrickwall.gif

I love this hobby, BUT at the same time, I am getting really frustrated too

Trust me, I know how you feel!!! brickwall.gif

Everyone goes through frustrations in this hobby. Just stick with it and rethink your plans and design. Eventually, you will have a light bulb moment.

Seth....I think I have had my fair share ...LOL.....I am hoping this "next" acquisition helps out.....LOL....something has to...give up is not in my vocabulary

Lol. I feel the same way sometimes. I know you don't like to hear it; but I think your just a tish overstocked. Your algae didnt start appearing until some of your fish started growing to adult size. Just something to think about.

Still though, a scrubber wouldn't hurt. Lol.

WELL.....I am not adding anymore fish, and not getting rid of any...LOL.....so HOPEFULLY this new filter will help, and my continuous maintenance

I may think of a scrubber later.......we shall see how this filter does.   Danny already said he would put one together for me if I wanted him too......I just don't know if I want one

I didn't read, what filter are you getting? Is it one of those denigrate vodka dosing thingies?

NO, A fluval FX5....I figure it will help with flow and filtration....I'm gonna run ceramic rings and purigen in it for now

Alrighty then! I hope it works.

Just remember, I'm always here when it's time to build that scrubber!

AT the suggestion of my husband I am trying something a little different.....upon looking at the tank he says......the very front of the rocks don't look as bad as the back.....why don't we move one MP40 back and up a little

HMMMMMMMMMMM

SO....we moved it up a little over an inch....and towards the back 2-3"......Definitely seeing some action on the back rocks....LOL

we will give this a few days, and add the Fluval as soon as it gets here

REALLY....Do the MP40's HAVE to be directly across from eachothershrug.gif

gonna do the water change shortly.....

Detrital or particulate food consumers. An abundance or these worms would indicate an abundance of the food.

Do you have any of those cerrith (sp) snails - I heard they were good for this stuff. But you would probably need 50 of them in that size of a tank.
