Cool. One last question. How many outlets will the halide system take up?

One socket if you use a timer strip.  I've heard good and bad reviews on them, but I've had the same one for years and haven't had any issues... knock on wood.

Yeah I will probably end up getting this 24" 96W (4x 24W) T5 HO Quad Deluxe Light Fixture w/Built-in Digital Timer by Odyssea. The whole thing only uses one cord- which makes it much easier

You will hear some really bad things about Odyssea, FYI.  I have had three of their fixtures and have no complaints.  Are they as good as the others that are out there?  Probably not, but I'm happy with the color and growth I've gotten.

I started a thread when I first got them and others chimed in with their experience.  It hasn't been updated in a while, and not that often, but if you're interested...

I do have their MH system.  The 1070 watt, three X 250 MH and four X 80 T5's.  I love it.  I started out with two of their 36" fixtures over my 72" tank.  When I upgraded I kept one of the old 36" fixtures (one 250 watt MH and two 96 watt PC) for a 30 gallon breeder that I have in my basement with hopes of one day setting it up as a nano reef.  When I first got interested in keeping corals I wasn't sure I would be willing to risk a $1,000+ investment on a fixture for a hobby I wasn't sure about.  When I was ready to upgrade I considered the growth I had with their product and gave them more business.  Now that I'm considering a tank upgrade, I'm looking into more expensive LED fixtures or a DIY LED.  I'm glad I went with the fixture's I've had because up until now I didn't know how much I would really like this hobby and therefore didn't know how much money I'd be willing to throw at it.
