I paid for a Picasso and this is what Saltwaterfish sold me.  What do you think?

This is what the ad looks like.  untitled.jpg

I have seen it.....remember that is just a general picture.....If you do not buy off the eye it buy it......you are probably not going to get what you are seeing in an ad

For $60 I expected something that looked more like all the other pictures I've seen.  I've been buying from Saltwaterfish for years but they have probably seen the last of my business because of this.

Also, when you pay 60 bucks for a Picasso, you are not going to get a grade A specimen.

Yes, I know that.  But $60 is a lot of money for a percula on one side and a percula with a spot on the other side.  It barely qualifies as a semi-picasso.

Gemmy is spot on with this. You paid $60, you should not be expecting a premium or a grade A Picasso.

The classification of a Picasso clown is a wide one. You have a $60 Picasso. The ORA picture you posted is of a premium, which would have cost you a heck of a lot more money. Sorry, I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear.

Heres a little info on their markings from ORA's website:

" ORA does not use a definitive set of criteria for grading Picassos. Our fish may be radically marked on one side and merely have an extra blob of white on the other."

Definitely a Picasso but one of a lower grade.

I think the pictures, unless EIBI, reflect Grade A's.  I also think with snowflakes, platinums, and other mutations now milling out, lines have gotten more blurred, and the Picassos are not see with as much "WOW" factor as they were before.

I don't feel that $60 was out of line for this particular fish at all.  Is that another fish in the background?  It appears to have more white?

Yes, there is another fish.  It was acceptable because even though Saltwaterfish advertised it as a Picasso, I really only expected a semi-Picasso.  I did my research before buying this fish, including reading all the descriptions on ORA.  BTW, the picture I posted of the ORA Picasso is the one Saltwaterfish listed in their ad for this $60 fish.  I wasn't expecting a Premium or a Grade A Picasso.  I was expecting something that resembled ORA's description though.  I would have been much happier with a true perc for half the cost.  My complaint to Saltwaterfish was that I was disappointed with the fish and they should post a picture more representative of what the customer is actually going to receive.  Their response was "sorry you were disappointed".

I'm afraid everyone who has ever purchased anything online sight unseen, has had issues with the item not being what they expected.  This doesn't mean that the item was misrepresented.

Sorry but it all relates to the grade, in doing research this would have been the question to ask.  There are fine lines in what labels a fish as a picasso.

Please read the last line.  For $60, you got what you paid for.  I know that's not what you want to hear but it is the truth.  You have the genetics.  If you want just a show fish, you would have to purchase a higher grade.

This is an adolescent fish and will develop color a bit more as it ages.  I have seen some that have really changed their look as their black develops.
