What is the BEST protein skimmer for a 55 gallon mixed reef?? It must be HOB. Thanks! wave.gif

Thanks! I will be ordering that next week. Big changes are in store for my tank in 2012.

 

 

Now, I have a question. Since I can order the media box and put my carbon in there, do you guys think I can ditch my canister filter? Or should I still keep it going? Or do you guys have a better suggestion? A sump is really out of the question, since I live in an apartment. I'm already pushing the lease by having two tanks running, let alone the added weight of a sump under my 55.

Is your canister the only filtration on the system.....I'm lost what tank are we talking what's currently running.....

I am talking about my 55 gallon tank. I am currently just running my fluval 305 canister filter. I used to a have an aqua c remora skimmer, but it's broke and I was not too happy with the quality of it. I have about 50 lbs live rock, 2 mp10's and a koralia nano powerhead.

I'd keep the canister filter for the time being and add the skimmer.....
