Does anyone use anything other than Aqua Stick?

It can be a pain to use. We only use it for bigger pieces and you have to really kneed it for a while before it's useful. My husband likes CorAffix the best.

I'm a big fan of superglue gel, or any of the other gel cyanoacrylate glues. I try not to user the epoxy's unless the piece is huge because as you have noticed it can be a pain in the backside to work with.

I've read that there are some regular epoxies found at the hardware store that are OK for use in a tank, if you know what ingredients to look for and avoid, but I've always played it safe and used the aqua stick.

I use both the epoxy and superglue gel together unless the frag plug is small (trimmed down with my diamond cutter for looks). The epoxy is mostly used as a gap filler so the superglue gel can get more surface contact. If used alone, I agree it is pretty much useless as an adhesive (except on my fingers).

I use nothing but superglue gel. It pretty much bonds instantly as soon as it touches water.

there are several types of epoxies that you can use but they all are pretty much the same when it comes to workability, you just need to practice and get a feel for the best ways to use epoxies. I've done my share of fragging...  and  I still some times have a hard time with overly large pieces and epoxy. often I just wind up supergluing little pieces of rubble to build a good contact zone for superglue to work. much like slice uses the epoxy as a Gap filler.
