so I went through the bucket o powerheads all but 3 worked so I'm in good shape there. I have 2 pumps that will work as returns, that way if one fails the other keeps circulating.

slight change of plans for the weekend, My wifes father is dying of pancreatic cancer and this weekend he took a turn for the worse so all plans are off and we are waiting for the"shoe to drop"... so little will be done on the tank. sorry guys.

Sorry to hear of the family issues.

Gonna tag along here. Can't help with the SE bulbs, but always liked the lookand the coral coloration when using  the 20k Radiums in the 150 watt DE's

so i took stock of my wood materials I have kicking around and I do have enough to build the stand the way I want. thank goodness. I didn't want lumber to cut into my all-too scarce budjet for this build. I will probably do the tear down this weekend providing there are no un-forseen complications.

I have preferences, but it's up to you man... like Spanko said, 15k for growth, 20k for color. Right now with my new ATI T5 bulbs on my system, I'm getting a color temp of about 15k.

My tank is a 120 4x2x2 with 2 - 75 watt MH se, 2- F size artic 3', 2-T5 artic 4', 2- T5 ultra Daylight 4' asortment of blue neons all on timers for lighting. I have a 30 gallon sump including 10 gallon isolated refugim with an assortment of algaes and plants, a 220 skimmer, a 1/3 hp chiller, and 2 - heaters with external temp probs. 3" DSB, about 150 pounds of live rock, a variety of hard and soft corals, and 20 community fish, crustaions, and snails. My tank has been running for about 2 years.

lots of plotting and planning but no actual progress until this coming weekend.
