Water Change

Thread Starter

I just completed my water change! I did about 8 gallons in my 37 gallon tank. My tank is cloudy now- b/c of the water change. I enjoy doing water changes, and would like to know if anyone else enjoys it as well?

I enjoy it, but will enjoy it a lot more when it's all automated!!!!!!! bigg.gif

not really. lol Labor of love, I guess you could call it.

I don't mind mine one way or the other, I can do it relatively fast so it doesn't bother me...I enjoy working with my tank in general.

I definitely enjoy water changes more than running tests though!:) I cannot wait to be done cycling.

Eh, it's a water change.  I don't really enjoy it, but I do like the look of a nice clean tank after all the rocks have been blown down and the sandbed is clean.  There's always a little cyano somewhere in a seahorse system, no such thing in my house as a ULN tank unfortunately.  rolleyes.gif

I do a 5-10g water change every weekend, with occasional skips.  The skipped weekend is always followed up by a 10g change the following Saturday, though.

It's soooo much easier once it's automated. We push a button and it's done :-)

Thinking I want to do a small change daily, or continuous water change!!!!  Looking either at the LiteMeter III or the dual head Reef Filler.

Ours is set to do 2G twice a day.

Im definitely happy with the results of small daily water changes vs one large weekly one.

I remember when I came into a bunch of free salt I was doing 5g water changes everyday as an experiment and man did my 45g look awesome the coral growth was beyond belief too.

Agree.....I think the smaller more frequent water changes minimize the stress.

My husband made one and we use our controller to run it. There is a thread on here somewhere on how he did it. It needs to be updated now that we are using a different controller (Apex).

They do sell units to do it, but they're very expensive.
